As the saying goes, health is wealth. When you’re fit and healthy and active, we’re often happy. When we’re not, we can feel lethargic, tired and completely unmotivated. Add being busy on top of that, and you’ve got a recipe for a health disaster.
Right now, you might feel like you don’t have time to go to the gym, but you can make time in the smallest of ways. By making just a few changes (not even big ones) to your current lifestyle, you can notice a lot of difference in how you look and feel. Even if you just introduce one of these ideas at a time, one per week, until you’re more comfortable with doing them all, you’ll feel the benefits.
Up Your Water Intake
So you might think this is a boring point to start with because you hear it all of the time. But, you hear it all of the time for an excellent reason – it works! When you’re properly hydrated, your body functions better, your skin and hair look healthier, you feel less tired and have more energy. Yes, all of that is true. Plus, when you’re drinking enough water, you get rid of any bloating that you may be experiencing as your body no longer needs to hold on to excess water.
Track Your Steps
It’s also a good idea to figure out how much you move in a day. It doesn’t mean you have to start moving more unless you want to of course. But by either tracking your movements on your smartphone or a step counting wristband, you will be more aware of the exercise you are or are not getting. Who knows, seeing the results might even motivate you to move more, and that’s not a bad thing.
Clear Your Mind
Next up, think about your health holistically and not just in terms of how much you exercise and how healthy your eating habits are. Holistic health can be the key to reducing your stress levels, balancing hormone problems and more! When you’re all over the place, you lose sleep and a lack of sleep can make it impossible to try and stay in shape. So, why not take up 10 minutes of meditation a day (using a handy smartphone app) or join a yoga class for an hour a week. It could be all you need to change to notice an improvement in many areas of your life.
Focus On Fish Oils
When we think of healthy eating, we often believe that fats are bad. While some kinds of fat are not great for your health or your arteries, there is a range of healthy fats that your body needs. When your intake of healthy fats is high, like nut butter and fish oils, your hair and joints are in much better shape. Better yet, you can even lose weight! Park Further Away
And finally, this one is something you can program yourself to start doing subconsciously. When you drive to work or go to the store, start parking further away and walk more. It’s not always easy to walk everywhere instead of driving, so this is a healthy compromise. By trying to change the places that you drive and walk to, you might just start upping those daily steps in no time at all.
