We are in the final month of 2017, can you believe that? This year has gone by so fast, i feel like i just celebrated New year 6 months ago lol. As we close out this year, it is important to think about what is important to you. Think about your purpose and what God has placed you on earth to achieve. No one is an accident on earth, no one is here to just occupy space.
What is God’s purpose for your life?
When God placed us on this earth, it was for a divine reason even if right now you are not sure what that reason is. Sometimes, we might actually know what the purpose is but are running away from that purpose for personal reasons. It could also be that the purpose is not fully clear to you. Whatever the case, it is important to seek the face of God and ask him to make his plans known to you.
I have been blogging for about 3 years now, but you know what? Then recently i came to the full realization or nearly full realization of what God has given this blogging passion for. I have always loved writing, love journals, keeping notes est. In the past, I would write long posts to myself or letters to myself just for fun. In 2013 after we got married, i was home one day and felt the Lord speak to me about opening a blog. I had recently developed a huge interest in fitness and thus used the blog to share experiences, advice etc. One thing was missing though, even though i heard him clearly i did not let him lead me all the way.
In 2015, i decided to start fitness online training and for some reason no matter what i did it was frustrating. I know all things have their frustrations, but you know what i mean. Anyway, eventually i started making some money from it and my blog was not as consistent as it should have been. My own goal had started stomping on God’s purpose for my life. Fast forward to a short break i decided to take summer of 2017. It was meant to be a break to plan for 2018, i began to seek God’s face to lead me on how to increase my online training. That changed and resulted in God taking me on a journey of what he called me to and what i was currently doing. I had sort of let the goal of making a side income take over what he gave to me initially. I revamped my blog immediately, got a new theme and refocused on him.
This blog platform he has given to me is a place of sharing various experiences, advice and hope to empower fellow women and lead them towards Christ. He reminded me of why he had given me the name of my blog as Christsoldiergirlfitness in the first place. It is based off 2 Timothy chapter 2 which talks about being soldiers of God.
You might be thinking he has given you a purpose but it seems bigger than you or you do not see how it is even possible. I want you to remember a few verses:
2 Corinthians 12:8-10
8 Concerning this thing, I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. 9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
When God calls you to something, he equips you with all you need to achieve it, he might not sure you the full picture from the beginning. But if you let him lead you, he will reveal them with time. It is just walking or driving, you can only really see what is around you but not what is ahead of you. But if you keep walking or driving, the rest will become clear as you get closer to them.
One thing having a baby has taught me is persistence. Do you ever see a child saying they would no longer try walking just because they fell down a thousand times? No, they get up and try again and again till they get it. I think as adults, we tend to overcomplicate things and that’s why God says we need to be like children. Children ask and believe that you will give them whatever the request without thinking too much about it.
Luke 9: 23 says Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.
This to me means you must get to the end of yourself in order to see the beginning of God. You must empty yourself of you and go to God empty so he can fill you up. Let go of those fears and concerns, the past mistakes and failures that are holding you back. The thought of what others will say or think, guess what no one really cares. God did not give them the vision, he gave it to YOU so run with it!
If you are wondering what is God’s purpose for your life, spend time in his presence and he will reveal himself to you.
Through my new blogging journey, i am learning to ask God to guide me as i write and plan. My goal is to always seek his face to know if a decision i am about to make is in line with his purpose for me. To know if it brings glory to his name, if it will empower fellow women for him and give others hope. I am learning that i need to decrease so he can increase in my life. Its a journey and we all need to daily strive to achieve the purpose he has given to us.
