Today is the first day of my Sunday connections and I am so excited! My goal with these connections is to share part of my Faith as a born-again Christian with you all. I will be sharing bible verses that ministered to me throughout the week or messages or basically anything that the lord lays on my heart to share so stay tuned.
The verse for this week is from Luke 5:5-7 which reads:
5 Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”
6 When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. 7 So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink.
As the message reads, Simon and the rest had tried fishing all night without getting any fish. They are Fishermen and thus know the ins and outs of fishing so it wasn’t a matter of not knowing the right time to fish or the right spot etc.
What ministered to me about this verse was that in everything we do, we need to involve God, we need to commit everything into his hands. You may think because you studied something in school that everything will go smoothly but that is not always the case. For you to be successful, you need to commit the works of your hands into God’s hands if not you will labor in vain.
1 Unless the Lord builds the house,
the builders labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
the guards stand watch in vain.
2 In vain you rise early
and stay up late,
toiling for food to eat—
for he grants sleep to[a] those he loves.
This verse says it all, you labor in vain in all that you do when you try to do it yourself. We all wake up every day, going to one job or the other, work hard, come back home and keep going day in, day out. We need to stop and ask ourselves: are we committing our ways into God’s hands? or are we just doing things our way because we believe we know what to do? When you commit it to God, he shows you great and mighty things, he shows you easy ways around things and brings you into favor with people. Things that seemed impossible suddenly become possible. When God steps into a situation that seemed impossible, he opens up the doors and makes ways where there seemed to be no way. He brings favor and blessings your way. That confused state you find yourself in, he can give you clarity.
Have you been there? days you think you know it all, then things go out of hand and you are still trying all you can to solve the problem, calling people you know to help you out. We forget the most important person that can help us out of the situation.
This week, ask God to show you what areas of your life you need to commit to him and trust him to help you. Let go of holding on so tightly to your life so you can lose your life to him.
Have a blessed week lovelies!!!!
